Cyber-Physical Convergence: When Supply Chain Attacks Hit the Factory Floor
The defense industrial base's cyber threat surface used to be cleanly separable — IT was where attacks landed, OT was air-gapped and ignored. That separation is gone. In 2025 and 2026, ransomware actors, state-affiliated APTs, and criminal groups routinely pivot from IT to OT, with consequences that no longer stop at the data exfiltration boundary. Cyber-physical convergence is now the operating condition of the defense industrial base.
